The Brighton Marathon

Brighton Marathon 2012

Brightec have been working with the Brighton Marathon since its first year in 2010. We have produced a new version of their app for the 2012 race. The app has many of the same features as the 2011 version including: Runner tracking, custom news listing, maps of key locations and results.

This years app has a number of new and improved features:

Improved performance when network signal is low
Runner tracking on the course map
Improved runner & results information.

We're confident that this years app will be as successful as it was in previous years.

Brightec partner with the Brighton Marathon to produce their iPhone App

Brighton Marathon 2011

Brightec have been working with the Brighton Marathon since its first year in 2010. The Brighton Marathon required an iPhone app that would serve two primary purposes: 1. Allow a spectator to access information about the event before and on the day 2. Allow a runner to get their results as quickly as possible after they finished the race The iPhone app that Brightec were able to produce had functionality to aid with both of the above. Firstly, it gave the spectator access to the course map and plotted their current position on the map. It also allowed them to 'follow' the progress of any number of runners, by being alerted when the runner passed various points. The app also approximated where a runner might be and when they might finish the race, so that the spectator had a good chance of seeing them as they ran.

Run Brighton

The RunBrighton website is a resource for the running community in Brighton and Hove and for runners visiting the area. It provides information and advice to runners of all levels. Brightec have been working with Ground Events since they started the Brighton Marathon in 2010. We have worked closely with their team on various projects including the 'Runs' pages of the RunBrighton website. We provided a Drupal based CMS for this section to allow them to add their new runs each week or month. We also provided a custom module to authenticate their users against their administration system.
