Mobile app Quality Assurance (QA), often referred to as mobile app testing, is an umbrella term referring to the many app tests that are carried out before an app’s release. Mobile app QA ensures an app is finished to the highest possible standards so that it can positively represent your brand and connect with your users.

Manual quality assurance
Manual mobile app QA is something we carry out during the app development process, little and often. It’s a chance for us to observe how users move through the app and interact with its features (tapping buttons, filling in forms, and navigating to different pages). This helps us see whether the app is working as we intended.
Manual mobile app Quality Assurance is a great opportunity to understand how an app functions in the real world. After all, what’s clear to us might not be clear to someone else; we don’t all see things the same way. Functional testing
Functional testing is what we do at the end of the build to make sure the app is functional and everything works how it should.
To carry out functional testing, we run test scripts that ask testers to take certain actions within the app (create an account, add an item to your cart, make a purchase, and so on). By taking these actions, we can verify whether the result of that action is intended or not.
For example, if you add an item to your card and hit ‘checkout’ you would usually be taken to a payment screen. This is an expected outcome. But if you are taken back to the homescreen, this is unexpected.
Functional testing helps us verify the expected functionality and identify the unexpected functionality so that we can make the appropriate changes.
